SMILE & Arts was founded in 2004 by Mag. Michaela Leithner, MA. Today, we are a full-service event agency with a strong focus on multilingual event formats – headquartered near Vienna, operating throughout Austria and internationally.
With over 20 years of experience and more than 1,000 successfully delivered events, we seamlessly combine strategic planning, professional organisation, and precise execution.
Our expertise spans corporate events, conferences, and annual general meetings, as well as gala evenings, cultural events, workshops, and motivating team-building experiences. We plan, produce, and manage all trades from a single source: concept development, budgeting and permits, venues and logistics, safety, catering, staffing, and – when required – interpreting and hybrid solutions. Mag. Michaela Leithner, MA, ist die Gründerin und geschäftsführende Gesellschafterin der SMILE & Arts. Sie ist eine hochqualifizierte Dolmetscherin und Übersetzerin, die an mehreren renommierten Universitäten Europas ausgebildet wurde, darunter die Universität Wien, die University of Leeds (UK) und die Universidad de Las Palmas (Gran Canaria). Mit mehr als 20 Jahren Erfahrung in der Branche hat sie zahlreiche Teams für Konferenzen, Delegationen, Events, Pressekonferenzen und andere Veranstaltungen organisiert. Ihr Anspruch ist es, dass die Zuhörer:innen eine Veranstaltung so erleben, als hätten sie dem Original zugehört. Diese hohen Standards setzt sie auch bei der Auswahl der Dolmetscher:innenteams voraus. Sie legt besonderen Wert darauf, die Bedürfnisse der Kund:innen genau zu verstehen. Ihre Rolle als Eventmanagerin umfasst auch die Sicherstellung eines reibungslosen Ablaufs, sowie einer klaren Kommunikation.

Franz Harnacker
Franz Harnacker, ebenfalls Gründer und geschäftsführender Gesellschafter von SMILE & Arts, ist Hauptverantwortlicher für Backoffice, Finanzen und Controlling. Mit seiner langjährigen Erfahrung in den Bereichen Grafik, DTP und Druck bringt er wertvolles Know-how in das Unternehmen ein. Seine fundierten Ausbildungen in Kommunikation, Volks- und Betriebswirtschaft ermöglichen es ihm, die Bedürfnisse der Kunden aus deren Perspektive zu verstehen und maßgeschneiderte Lösungen anzubieten.

Since 2019: As always, an excellent collaboration. We undertook the “Remote Interpreting” project for 26 languages, including sign language, largely because we could rely 100% on SMILE’s service. Both the testing phase and the implementation were a complete success.
